FARM Quarter Horses has been a dream of mine for a very long time.
My love of horses came from my father, Jim
Brown, who has owned quarter horses, competed with quarter
horses, and encouraged me to breed quarter horses. At an early age, 4
years old, to be exact, I was leading his good roping horse, “Pigeon.”
Dad roped and steer wrestled all over the northeast before and after I
was born.
When I was a teenager, I raised my first horse for myself. I
kept that horse for thirty years!
I sadly had to put her down in 2003 due to severe arthritis.
“Gypsy” taught both my girls how to
ride and was the matriarch of the farm for years.
In
the late seventies my Dad started raising beef cattle. He now has one
of the largest and finest registered herds of Charolais
beef cattle in the northeast. If anyone is interested in Charolais

help out with the horses, giving much needed advice and support to my
dreams.
My
husband and I started out slowly in the early eighties and our
daughters grew up with horses. We rode trails mostly for years but I
still had this dream of breeding and starting foals. We have bred a
couple of very nice mares to start our breeding program. We have two
foundation quarter horse mares to build with and two mares with more
modern bloodlines. Check out our mares page

I also wanted to share my love of horses with
others, so I’ve started a riding center known as “Finger
Lakes Rides, Inc.” that caters to individuals with
disabilities. An indoor
riding arena was erected this year for that program and for our
use in working with our
own horses. Check out the riding center from our home page for more
details. I also offer beginner riding lessons to local children and
help them to show in local shows with the Finger Lakes Equestrians
horse club.
